How to Find Healthcare Facilities Near You

FindHosi makes it easy to locate healthcare facilities in your area. This guide will walk you through the process of finding and filtering healthcare facilities based on your needs.

Getting Started

When you first open FindHosi, the application will request access to your location. Granting this permission allows FindHosi to show you healthcare facilities near your current position.

Location Permissions

If you denied location access initially, you can enable it in your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Click the lock icon in the address bar → Site settings → Location → Allow
  • Safari: Safari Preferences → Websites → Location → Allow for FindHosi
  • Firefox: Click the lock icon → Permissions → Access Your Location → Allow

Using the Search Bar

The search bar at the top of the main page allows you to search for healthcare facilities by name, address, services, or specialties.

  1. Type your query in the search bar (e.g., "cardiology," "pediatric clinic," or a specific hospital name).
  2. Results will update automatically as you type, showing facilities that match your search.
  3. You can clear your search by clicking the X icon that appears in the search bar.

Filtering Results

FindHosi offers several filtering options to help you narrow down your search and find exactly what you're looking for.

Distance Filter

The distance slider allows you to control how far from your location FindHosi should search for healthcare facilities.

  • Adjust the slider to increase or decrease the search radius (from 1km to 50km).
  • The map will update automatically to show facilities within the selected radius.
  • If you don't see enough results, try increasing the radius to expand your search area.

Facility Type Filter

You can filter healthcare facilities based on whether they are public or private institutions.

  • Public facilities are typically government-run hospitals and clinics.
  • Private facilities are privately owned and operated healthcare institutions.
  • Select "All Types" to see both public and private facilities.

Specialty Filter

The specialty filter allows you to find facilities that offer specific medical specialties or services.

  • Select a specialty from the dropdown menu (e.g., Cardiology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics).
  • Only facilities offering the selected specialty will be displayed in the results.
  • To see all specialties again, select "All Specialties" from the dropdown.

Map View vs. List View

FindHosi offers two ways to view healthcare facilities: Map View and List View. You can switch between these views using the tabs at the top of the results section.

Map View

Map View shows healthcare facilities on an interactive map, allowing you to see their locations relative to yours.

  • Emergency facilities are highlighted with a special red marker.
  • Click on a marker to see basic information about the facility.
  • Click "View Details" in the popup to see more information about the facility.

List View

List View shows healthcare facilities in a scrollable list, making it easy to browse through all available options.

  • Facilities are sorted by distance from your location by default.
  • You can change the sorting order to alphabetical by clicking the sort button.
  • Click on a facility in the list to view its detailed information.
  • Each facility card shows key information like name, address, rating, and open status.
